The volunteers of the Chesapeake Independent Blues will be celebrating the heritage of Maryland's Kent Island during the annual Kent Island Day Festival being held on Saturday, May 19, 2018. The program will include a morning parade through Stevensville starting at 10:30, followed by an interpretive display at the historic 1809 Cray House. The Blues will be interpreting the Kent Islanders who served in the Maryland Militia of Queen Anne's County during the War of 1812. The Kent Island Day Festival is held annually on the third Saturday of May in Stevensville by the Kent Island Heritage Society to celebrate the heritage, life, and culture of Kent Island. The festival will feature displays, exhibits and entertainments for all ages
